Explanation of Abbreviations Used

I know most abbreviations used by NavNet 3D are standard , but is there an explanation for all the ones used, For example what is VMC .. Velocity Made Course ? what does this mean ?

The VMG is the boat speed projected on the Wind Direction vector
The VMC is the boat speed projected on the Bearing To Target (Active Route)
