ETR 6/10N making trouble...

My sounder has stopped working after the boat was on land for 3 months. No back in the water, and picture looks like artwork - and beeps from the Navpilot - no depth sensored. What could be wrong - nothing changed intentionally since it was fine earlier this year. Could it be corrosion or a cable, that is faulty? Thx for tips. VJOHS, DK

Mitchell31,

Your ETR/10N is actually a "BBFF1" which is the 50/200kHz blackbox network sounder that is typically used for NAVNET VX1 or NAVNET VX2 systems.

Do you know what is the transducer that is connected to the BBFF1, and if it's connected directly to the Network Switch or Hub, or is it connected directly to the Multifuction Display..?

First I would check the voltage to the BBFF1 (12/24 VDC), and the power connection. Then check all your network connections, and then lastly, check the transducer's condition and it's connection to the BBFF1.

Are you able to provide any pictures on what you are seeing on the screen..?

Hi DeepBlue

Thx for you suggestions. I dont how to post pictures here, but it seems like the signal is… disturbed. And turns off and on, from what I see on the vx2. Also, my Navpilot beeps because of missing depth data. The transducer has a temperature sensor, but I dont know the model.

Hmmm. Could it be any of the other devices not letting the signal through? Full setup = vx3, navpilot 711, fap 7002, pg500 and fa50. Arghhhhh. I am a Mac user i daily life :)

Regards, vjohs
