ETR 30N vs TZTL2

I have an existing ETR 30N connected to my Navnet system and recently added a TZTL2. I am having some issues with clutter on my old ETR 30N/Navnet system. I am trying to determine if it would be better to troubleshoot the old ETR 30N system, or switch to the TZTL2. Which will provide better performance when working properly for fishing - trolling the edge and deep dropping?

DTrol,
There is quite a difference between the BBFF3 (ETR-30N) and TZT2 internal sounder. The BBFF3 is frequency programmable from 28-200Khz and is 1-3Kw. The internal sounder on the TZT2 is strictly 50 & 200Khz at 600 or 1kw. For deep dropping the BBFF3 would have the advantage paired with the correct transducer.

Also, I am sure you already know but you can not use the BBFF1 or BBFF3 connected to a TZT or TZT2 system. They are older analog based sounders and not compatible with anything beyond the NN3D.

Thanks - is it safe to assume that my current BBFF3 system transducer will not work with the TZTL2 either?

I know placement of the new transducer is a factor but any thoughts on whether or not the 2 systems would conflict with each other if I added a new transducer and tried to run 2 systems concurrently - BBFF3 & TZTL2?

DTrol,
If you go forward you are going to have two separate systems, older NavNet/BBFF3 and the TZT2. The TZT2 won't go deep enough for canyon fishing but using a 526TID-HDD (B-260) if should do a good job for most of your fishing needs. Yes the two systems will talk to each other but you can minimize the interference using the IR control (Interference Rejecter) on both units.
