Do you see the need for a spray deflector plate?

I haven't at this stage because as you can see, the outboard is mounted on a pod that sits it 550mm back from the transom. So I figured any spray wasn't going to bother anything. I'll report back on that theory.
The photo is me checking the engine height, but clearly shows the pod relative to the transducer. By all means correct my thinking!
