Had to go ahead and upgrade this year so installed and networked the the items listed above with a couple of TZT14's. Is there any paperwork on the net to help me get a clear understanding of what this is capable of and how to get the most from the system? I can go from ARS fishing in 120ft to deep drop at 850ft and swords after that, any insight on the best frequencies to set up with on the low and high side.

The R109 is good for 38 to 75 on the LF and 130 to 210 on the HF. I would recommend setting the center freq in the middle of the band and then set the bandwidth so you can slew when needed. Maybe something like 55 khz center freq for LF with a BW of 26 (13 up and 13 down) then possibly 160 khz with BW of 76 (38 up and 38 down)? You will have to let us know how you like it. That should be a killer combo.

So far I am very pleased, never had a sonar/transducer hold bottom at speed. I will be headed to deep water in a few weeks, looking forward to seeing a sword on the bottom at 1800 ft.

tbaxl,

The recommended frequency when for looking for swords are around the depth of 300 fathoms is around 50-65kHz when using the DFF3. Looking forward to seeing how that works for you..?
