DFF1 not connecting to PC

Hello, I recently bought a DFF1 from a friend when he upgraded all of his furuno equipment.

I am trying to connect it directly to a PC using a 4 wire crossover cable with the mode switches set to ON-OFF-OFF-ON.

When I connect it to the PC the wired connection shows connecting then disconnects and this just repeats with the green light flashing on the DFF1.

I have checked the connection with wireshark and everytime the DFF1 sends one UDP packet to I assume the broadcast address 192.31.255.255.

Am I missing something? Thanks

I have managed to get the DFF1 recognised by timezero and there is some communication but the connection keeps dropping leading to a laggy display. Can I update without an MFD as I think it has version 1.01. Thanks

Thanks, I don't have the module on me just now but I shall try it next time I do. I was intrigued as the where you got the IP address as I have been looking for information for a while now and it came up with the furuno.fr website which gives you the software to update the DFF1 without an MFD. The instructions ask you to use two ethernet cables and a hub, am I ok to just use a crossover? Thanks again.

Use can try a using cross over cable but I normally will use a HUB.
