compliance on earthing/grounding devices on Aluminium boat

I have an aluminium boat and I have not earthed/grounded the external earth/ground points on the DI-FFAMP, TZT3 16 or the DFF-3D.

I don't believe the quality of sounder image I am currently obtaining is affected.

Is it necessary to ground the external ground points on these devices on my boat? if so would that would be earthing back through to the negative bus of the battery.

Many smaller boats don't have grounding systems. As long as your power system is clean and not seeing any negative effects from the system, I would leave it as is. It is better not connected than to connect an antenna for noise. Negative of the battery is not ground and each device already has access to that on the power cable. If you are going to use the chassis ground; it should be to a properly bonded system normally to a hull plate. Some have been known to use the engine block as a ground. Ultimately it should be something has has good contact with the water. (like a proper hull plate)

Awesome thanks for the clarification Johnny. I have included a few photos of the mfd images
