Cmap vs Navionics

Navionics vs Cmap. Which would be the best for fishing? I live on the SW coast of Florida ( Boca Grande) and mostly fish offshore ( Florida and Northern Bahamas) . Any help would be appreciated!

If you are traveling to the Bahamas, you will need a good Navigation chart. What comes in the unit for free is only for the USA. You don't want to travel there without a purchased chart. Navionics has both navigation and excellent bathy on the same chart. C-Map is now giving that bathy area chart for free when you purchase their navigation chart. It depending on how you like to operate. C-map would have you toggle between navigation map with some reasonable bathy and then when you want the extreme bathy you would switch to a dedicated fishing chart. It is a simple swipe up from the bottom and toggle the chart selection. The advantage is a clear and less cluttered chart but you do have to switch. Navionics offers a one stop shop. To each his own. They both have excellent charts for that area.

Another consideration for the Bahamas is that CMap contains the Explorer Charts, while Navionics does not. Having used both there, the Navionics fall far short.

Of course, this only matters if you will be on soundings and navigating close to shore in islands and bays.
