CMAP 4D on GP 1971f

Just installed the cmap 4d sd card into my unit and the maps/ contours don't appear any different.

Does it have to go into a specific slot and do i need to turn anything on in settings to utilise the card?

If the card is rated for the area you are using; you should see a difference. You might have gotten a problem map. If 4D C-map, you might contact C-map techline directly 888-316-7275. If you have a blank SD card you should be able to test your card reader by writing a copy of your waypoints and see if you can read it back.
