Charts

Is there any plans to allow navionics platinum plus to be used? I bought TZ3 and radar to replace Raymarine system. I have TZ3 powered up to check out the charts. I have spent close to 1000 bucks on timezero navigator, fishing chart, and available navionics for the Great Lakes. All of which are useless for the Great Lakes as far as fishing goes. Navionics is not the greatest for the Great Lakes but it is something. And the ability to make my own charts was priceless. At this point I do not see my self putting this system in my boat.Which would suck, not just because of the big money loss, but I was excited to try out Furuno.

No, the NN3D/TZT/TZT2/TZT3 ultimately use the same MM3 MapMedia charts as the Nobeltec TZ software. These time zero type charts ultimately are better than many of the other formats in how they work and layer with photo fusion. If you have a lot of charts with Nobeltec Navigator, it would most likely cost much less for you to upgrade your licence with Nobeltec to one that offers the chart cross licencing agreement. For example if you had Noveltec TZ Pro, you could just have Nobeltec join the system licences (TZT pro and TZT3) and all the charts you own for the Nobeltec will automatically get free licence on your TZT3.

I checked with Nobeltec on your suggestion. They agreed that if I buy the radar module it would allow a license for my TZ3 for software I have bought. The catch being, they can only supply navigation maps from Navionics. They claim I should be able to get Navionics Platinum Plus through my dealer. Unfortunate my dealer is trying to sell me a normal Navionics card that I know will not plug and in play into my TZ3.
