Chart plotter - radar layers - overlay question

I want to overlay my radar on my chart plotter. I have the chart plotter up full screen and when I go to the layers menu and turn on radar, I only see a faint radar circle that disappears immediately and then nothing. My equipment is listed below. Can you help?

There's a transparency slider somewhere - make sure that's not set all the way down. It controls how much of the radar overlay you see on top of the chart.

You need a compass input. Do you have an autopilot on the boat?

I have a Simrad AP3000X that the installer neglected to connect to my new Furuno equipment. Do you know if it’s compatible and if so are there instructions?

The Junction box on the AP3000X should have an NMEA 0183 output.
It will need to be converted to NMEA2000 via a data converter. Our IF-NMEA2K2 will work.
