Hi
I have aquired a set (secondhand) computer with Timezero professiolal version 3, a DFF3D black box and the corresponding bronze transducer. I do not have the ethernet cable to be installed between the DFF3D and the computer with the Timezero program…
Now i wonder if a standard ethernet cable is ok to use or if I need a special cable from furuno?
(Extra card with ethernet connector is installed in the computer)

Thor,

I recommend using a Shielded CAT6 LAN Cable with Metal Connectors (don't use any LAN cable with plastic connectors). The DFF3D Multibeam is a very sensitive unit and you must combat any potential noise the best your can.

- Deep Blue ;)

Ok. Thanks. What you say is that the wires are connected to the contacts in parallell as a normal LAN cable?

Contiuing this thread, however, cable issue solved. The PC installed system works fine, maps, position etc. also showing sonar pictures from DFF3D… perectly. Very happy so far… but I am not able to save bathmetry data in the charts. Bathmetry recording is «on», and depth points are «on», but no depth soundings are visualized in the track on map. Viewing the monitoring dff3d page in timezero I see the depth data etc, but no position data… just (-:-) assume no depth recording is possible without position data… the timezero charts however shows boat position(normally 9 satelites and accurasy of 1.4m. Any suggestion how to fix this? DFF3D is connected to pc with special crossed rj45 cable. No position data is input to dff3d.
