C-Map Compatibility

I need to update my C-Map chip. Current chip is dated 2011. What should I investigate/ascertain to ensure the chip I purchase is compatible with my existing system? I understand I need to purchase a C-Map Max, per the C-Map website. Is there anything else I must consider? What, if anything, should I update on the Furuno side?

It is always a good idea to run the newest system software, if you are not already doing so. The newest C-map Vx2 software is version 4.03. You will want a CMap Max Chip from CMap on SD card like your current one. You can get large area like East coast or West Coast but do NOT purchase the monster coverage areas like the entire USA because it won't work correctly.
