Bottom discrimination

Hello-
Currently converting to a timezero pro system. The bottom discrimination feature is important to me. If what I’m reading is correct, I can not get bottom discrimination with a B275LHW from a DFF1-UHD, only the 265(narrow cone) version. Is this correct?

And is the same true with a BDS1 and an SS270w?

I do a lot of albacore trolling in Westport and the wide cone is better for seeing fish on the troll.


Pattern seems to be no wide cone transducers for bottom discrimination. Just wanting to confirm this. THANKS!

If you plan on using a B275LHW with a DFF1-UHD will not give you any Bottom Discrimination capabilities :noway . However, using the B265LH it can provide you with Bottom Discrimination that you are looking for.

Same with the BBDS1, the SS270W transducer isn't designed to do any Bottom Discrimination, but these following transducers can provide it: 520-5PSD, 520-5MSD, 525-5PWD, 525STID-PWD, 525STID-MSD, CA50/200-12M, CA50/200-1T

Tell me if this line of thinking works. Going to run the DFF1-UHD with my existing b275LHW knowing that I get no bottom discrimination for my offshore tuna fishing/trolling. Going to install a bbds1 and a DFF3d with the combination stainless fairing block transducer Furuno/Airmar make with the 3D elements and the 1kw 260 50/200hz elements for the area’s i bottom fish/salmon fish that I want to map. I can switch between the sounders depending on what I’m doing is my understanding. Sound accurate?
