Bottom discrimination troubleshooting

I have. Brand new tzt15l with a 1kw 526 transducer plugged directly into the mfd. the sounder functions but when I tap the screen and select [bottom] for bottom discrimination I just get a blank stripon the bottom of the screen where I assume the readings would be. Any help would be awesome

What is the full part number of the transducer? It must be one of the transducers approved for BD and it must be setup in the the transducer setup properly for that feature to be enabled. When enabled, BD is for water depths of 16ft to 325ft.
