I don't think you will be especially impressed with the C-Map chart in the link above. It doesn't have the detail of the bathymetric chart you can get with the new TZ iBoat charts for your phone or iPad. The CMOR chart is much better and supposedly can run on a TZT2, although I am guessing it might be slow. The problem with CMOR is that it is quite expensive --$700. https://www.cmormapping.com/order-cmor-cards/ny-nj

I have TZT3 displays, which cannot run the new TZ charts. If I want to explore new structure for bottom fishing, I locate promising spots on my iPad and save the waypoints, which then get synched with my MFDs. Since I have a DFF-3D, once I go to a new spot I can make my own bathymetric chart.

You can't synch with a TZT2 any more, however, so you would need to export the waypoints and import them to your TZT2. If you have an iPad, frankly you may be better off just bringing it with you and using the TZ iBoat bathymetric chart.

Yes I was very disappointed when my TZ app became obsolete. It is so detailed and easy to do at home. I am going to dig up an ipad and do as you suggested.

The TZMaps chart subscription for TZ iBoat is a good bargain and by far the cheapest way to get access to very detailed bathymetric charts. I have not tried it but I think you may still be able to do a local synchronization between the iPad and a TZT 2 and transfer waypoints created on the iPad to the TZT2. Put the TZT2 into "Local Network/Access Point" mode to create a local Wi-Fi network. Then join that network with the iPad and run the TZ iBoat app.

Next time I am at my small boat that has the TZT2 displays, I will try it and see if the waypoints in TZ iBoat get transferred to the TZT2. I am reasonably certain that when Furuno/Time Zero disabled the synchronization, it was only for the TZ iCloud over the internet, not local synchronization.

I was able to confirm that the TZT2 can be synched to TZ iBoat on phone or iPad and all of the waypoints will transfer back and forth. As noted above, you need to go to Settings/General and set it to create a local network. Then join the network with your phone or iPad and open the TZ iBoat app. You can go to Settings/Initial Setup and scroll down to synchronization log and verify that the TZT2 synched. It will say "cloud synch" even though it isn't connecting to the TZ iCloud server directly.
