BBWX4 software

Was looking at a BBWX4 and communicating with SiriusXM to get some samples from my local area I received the following communication

“The Furuno BBWX4 is not capable of displaying the chlorophyll data, while the receiver is capable, Furuno has not completed the software interface for their MFD's with Fish Mapping capability yet. That is the data set which includes our more advanced information including plankton (chlorophyll), altimetry (upwellings & downwellings) and advanced SST including temperature fronts and sub-surface SST.”

Do you know if the software is planned for future update to include these advanced features and how far in the future that may occur?

Thanks

Phil

Fish mapping is a new offering from Sirius/XM. I believe you can show chlorophyll on your right now using the included NavCenter weather without any needed subscription. NavCenter weather is extremely powerful if you haven't tried it and it is world wide data, not just USA. Furuno is now working with Sirius/XM on adding Sirius Fishing Mapping support. We do not have a timeline to offer. We will announce it when it becomes an available feature. At the current time they are busy with the release of TZT3.
