B54 with fairing block install

Hello,
I’m in the process of installing my DFF3D system starting with the transducer. I noticed after completing the B54 installation that the leading edge of the transducer face is sitting about 1.5 to 2mm proud of the fairing block, will this cause any performance issues?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kicker,

The leading edge of the transducer is not flush with the fairing block, it’s protruding buy about 2mm. The rear of the transducer is flush. I hope this explains it better.

Cheers,
Doug

Ultimately it all depends on what the water does when it hits the lip. It is most likely going to result in some amount of turbulence. I don't think any photos will tell you how much it will affect operations. A lip on on the trailing edge would be no big deal but the leading edge is likely to be somewhat of an issue. That question you really can't answer until it is tested in the water.

Thanks Johnny. I will see how it performs when I get it on the water. Can I purchase a replacement fairing block if required? Part number?

Cheers,
Doug

If you end up needing another, Gemeco can sell you a replacement. (phone 803-693-0777) Sometimes I have things laying around. If I have something extra that I can offer up, I will send you a PM.
