Availability of SCX-20/21

Any idea on availability of the SCX-20/21 Compass?

Manuals? I think I might need to "pole" mount it as the base longs bigger than the plate on my mast.

It says it is an operator's manual but it includes installation also.

I found this online. It looks like a special cable is required to connect a PC to the NMEA 2000 network. I don't think the cable is cheap either.

I believe that only applies if you are using a PC for setup vs. an MFD at the correct revision level connected to the NMEA 2000 network.

Now that the products are being official shown in the USA, we can be more forthcoming with information.

If you are using the tool program to configure the device it depends on the model selected. The SCX20 (NMEA 2000) would be placed on a standard bus and the PC would need a proper interface to also connect to the bus so they can communicate. This is typically a kvaser or similar CANbus interface for the PC to use. If using the SCX21, then the PC will need a RS422 converter to interface to the PC via typically the USB port. (like the pn 422-USB-CBL).

Is the cable to connect to scx20 to a pc going to be available to purchase?

Can it be configured thru a TZT MFD?

Yes, you can configure it with a TZT3 and soon with new software the TZT2. The NMEA 2000 CANbus interface (like Kvaser) isn't sold by us but is available and has been available for PC to NMEA 2000 interfacing.
