Anyone know what I did Wrong ? In shallow water.

First I would say you are in very shallow water. You can put your head in the water and see the fish first hand at that depth. You seem to be seeing surface clutter because you have high gain and fast transmission reflection. If you feel you want to look for targets at that depth you must lower your gain and transmission rate. Do you have photos in deeper water. What is the history and what unit are you running as an external sounder?

I should put my head in the water and keep it there I've got things so screwed up. :)

I do have my gain and transmission rate turned up, I'll lower them. If I'm running in auto mode, I know it controls Gain,Clutter,TVG,and Echo Offset. Do I need to adjust other settings in " System " I did get into " System" and that's where things got messed up. Thank you for any help.

You really don't use LF in shallow water like that. 50Khz needs about 50ft and deeper to work well. It should be setup for only HF (Single Freq) in shallow waters. Even in Auto, under 15ft can be problematic particularly if not running the newest software in the sounder. Normally you would turn down the gain and the transmission rate or put the transmission rate to auto and turn down the HF gain. I am not seeing anything wrong with the unit at this point.
