Have a TZ touch 2. Fish pretty shallow water, 60 feet or less. The chesapeake bay. Any one have any favorite settings? Very new to fish finders.
Thanks
There is really good information in the operators manual about the settings of a fishfinder. Unlike other operations with a piece of marine electronics, a fish finder can be really hard to generalize any settings specific to one fishery. Yes there are some common themes and theories applied but water conditions, surface conditions, bathymetric conditions play a large role in how to setup a fish finder. Also different fisheries will call for different settings as well. Unfortunately as a moderator not located in your region or someone that has fished in the Chesapeake it will be very difficult to recommend any specific settings.
The good news is there are plenty of resources online that you can use to help you learn the theory of how a fish finder works. There are even probably some videos available that show you specific fisheries in the Chesapeake that you are trying to focus on.
YouTube is a great resource to learn the common themes and theory of how a fishfinder works.
I would also check out the link below that gives some very nice information on fish finders and how they work and what to look for when fishing.
