Adapting a fish finder to a transducer

Hi, I have a fcv 588 that works with a 526 tid hdd transducer. The fish finder stopped working, I was very satisfied with it, according to what I checked on the net, it is difficult to find this model and even where it exists, very expensive. I was thinking of moving to a touch screen with a chartplotter, model gp1971f, I wanted to know if the transducer can work with the fish finder? If so, does the transducer connect directly to the screen without additional accessories? And will the quality be maintained like in the 588 that I was really happy with?

Yes, the 526TID-HDD (B260 with internal diplexer) will work very well with the GP1971F. While newer units like the FCV800 would perform better with having more dedicated circuits, the GP1971F has an excellent built in sounder and offers a very good value sounder why offer other features as well.
