700c vs 300 autopilot for Grady 228

Looking for an autopilot for this 22' outboard boat. It has a single 225 hp engine, and there is no power steering. I do not need Sabiki mode. The steering is surprisingly heavy in the 20 knot and up range. Would you recommend the 711c or the 300? Either way I might upgrade to the SCX-20 compass.

What do people recommend? Generally I troll at 3 knots, 7 knots, or 12 knots. Cruise at about 20-22 knots. Our conditions are often windy and very rarely smooth.

Either pilot is a good option. The 700 is a little more versatile in it's connection options. The 300 has been a great performer at an excellent price point. The limiting factor would be the size of your steering cylinder. Do you know your model number or displacement of the cylinder?
