588 vs 1971F

Hi all,
Looking at replacing my old 1kw sounder with either 588 or 1971F. . My boat is a deep trawler and plan on using a the included fairing block. I was told the 526TID HDD transducer is a good match for the 588 so I assume it would be same for 1971F?

Is the sounder the same for 588 to 1971F. Would I be losing any quality or important sounder features going with 1971F instead of the 588?

Will the 526TID HDD do everything for both machines, bottom discrim..etc..etc...?

If you are just comparing the 588 to the 1971F only using a 526TID (B-260) the performance will be very similar.
