Withe the New FCV 800 out and available it would seem that the 588 is or will be discontinued ? Any Info on this ? If it hasnt officially been discontinued , any insight s to when that might happen ?

The FCV588 was a great fish finder and it had a very good run, but the FCV800 is a total upgrade up from the FCV588 with several nice features like the following:

- The new FCV800 can drive either CHIRP or dual-frequency CW (Continuous Wave) transducers.
- It has Bottom Discrimination for Rock/Sand/Gravel/Mud assessment
- it has ACCU-Fish for use in fish sizing and depth calculation functions.
- It can output Bottom Hardness for use with external plotters like as TZ Professional and Olex
- It features a new Color Expansion for echo colors to help easily identify fish from seabed.
- It has White Line Feature for fish that may be lying near the bottom or displaying the top edge of the bottom in white to clearly show bottom structure.
- It has new Palettes with Sunlight and Yellow colors
- It has new Wireless Connectivity.
