4850 VHF

I am looking to purchase and network a 4850 VHF to a TZ2 through the NMEA2000 link.
However, I cant find the 4850 for sale anywhere in the USA. Is it available and is the TZ2 NMEA2000 Interface "built" yet?

Yes the TZT2 supports NMEA 2000. You will need to establish a NMEA 2000 bus if you plan on connecting NMEA 2000 items together.

The FM4850 is not available in the USA but should be offered sometime this season. Furuno USA recently introduced the FM4800 which is available now.

I see that the 4850 is now released in the USA for sale....at least one outlet.

I am planning on using it due to the very limited dashboard space on a small boat.

Question, do I have to hook up & install the supplied speaker? I might not have room, does the microphone also act as a speaker when just receiving?

Bought the 4850, works great.

Is there a "display/operator interface for the 4850 VHF that can show on the TZ215 such that I can operate the 4850 through the NMEA2000 interface?

I have a NMEA2000 backbone with the Yamaha Engine integrated but don't see anything showing the VHF in the main menu screens set up.

Not presently, but we will suggest the idea for a future software update.
