2 MFD12 with DFF1 or DFF1-UHD v FCV-588

I currently have one MFD12 and a FCV-588 connected to a B164 transducer. I have an extra MFD12 that I am contemplating installing so I can have two MFD12 displays, eliminate the FCV-588, but keep the B164.

My understanding is that if I connect the DFF1 through HUB101 to the MFD12, I will basically get the same information as I am getting on the FSV-588. Is that correct?

Is the DFF1-UHD compatible with a B164?

Do I gain anything by using a DFF1-UHD with a B164 instead of a DFF1?

DFF1-UHD is a TRU-Echo CHIRP sounder sounder so you can NOT use the B164 (50/200) transducer with it. You can move the B164 over to a normal DFF1 sounder and it will work about the same as the FCV588 but you will lose some features like BD and RezBoost, but gain better system integration and save space.

You couldn't run the B164 with the DFF3, so if you changed sounders; you would also need to change to a non-diplexed transdcuer. The DFF3 supports higher power and is tunable when the DFF1 is fixed at 50/200.

I have some other questions. I am connecting two MFD12s, DRS4d radar, Dff1, Garmin GHC10 autopilot and NMEA 2000. I read somewhere that a BBWX3 could be used instead of a HUB101. Can I use the BBWX3 to network the units I have instead of a HUB101?

I also have an SRA-40 antenna connected to a Sirius SXV300 tuner connected to the fusion stereo with an active Sirius radio subscription. If I also wanted a Sirius weather service in addition to Sirius radio service, do I just connect the SRA-40 to the BBWX3 which is then connected to the MFD12 and the fusion stereo and eliminate the SXV300?

Thank you.

The BBWX3 can not act like a hub101. What you are thinking about or read about is called the BBWX2. You can use the BBWX3 with the NN3D but it won't act as a hub. You would be looking for a BBWX2, because only the BBWX2 can also act as a small hub101.

The NN3D won't replace the fusion. Only the fusion 705 will work with it via network. You could share your antenna between the weather unit and your fusion/sirius radio if you get a slitter kit from shakespeare. The NN3D had crude Sirius audio support via the weather boxes if subscribed. The audio would go out of the weather box and pumped into an audio in jack on a stereo or to a set of amplified speakers.

Because of the angle of the elements of the B164, I don't think that tranducer is rated for accu-fish with any unit. It is not listed for the FCV-588 either. You will normally get more responses for sounder questions under the fish finder topic area.
