Good afternoon. Are the female connectors that are attached to the cable available? Per the schematic they would connect to JB21, JB23 and JB24. If not is a replacement cable available? Also there are 17 small signal wires and a shield that agree with the schematic. However the cable has an additional large gray wire about 10 awg that the shematic does not show. Where does that go? The schematic does not show a termination for the small orange signal wire but does show it as part of the cable. Where does that go? Thank you.

Yes, the connectors and pins can be ordered from any authorized Furuno dealer.

The color code and pin out is shown on Page S1 at the back of the manual.

Thanks Johnny,

I'll be able to get the connectors. Two concerns. If you look at the schematic the orange wire shows no connection so can I assume it stays unconnected? Also I don't see the large gray wire that is in the cable (10 awg perhaps) but isn't shown on the schematic. Perhaps that is not connected either? Heavy ground or bonding cable maybe? Have a good evening.

I think the gray wire you might be talking about could be what the drawing has labled as 2C2V. It is a Coax cable with two conductors. One, a very small hair fine center conductor and the other a shield wire. If it is indeed this coax, it should be wired as shown. Of course there is a gray wire labeled on the drawing as a ground. So please see if it is normal wire or a coax. The orange wire isn't used with this radar. (spare)

Wow! I didn't even see that 2C2V connection on the schematic. You are absolutely correct that it is a coax cable. Thank you for the usual fabulous assistance. Have a great day.

My distributor says I need a crimp tool and they don't have a part number for it. Can I solder to the pins instead of crimping?

I can get you a part number for the proper crimp tool but they run over $300 and it isn't practical to buy the tool for a one time use. I would recommend working with you dealer and see what they might charge to do the crimps or to rent you the tool. If you solder the pin and do a good job it might work but it also might be difficult to get the pin to slide into the white connector if soldered instead of crimped. Electrical wise, it wouldn't matter as long as your connection is solid.

Thanks again Johnny. Agree about the tool cost. Luckily I've been trained to do delicate soldering so I'll try that. Have a great day.
