1834 with bbf1 sounder problems

Hey all, I have an 1834 with a bbf1 module connected to a ss264/20-200khz wide transducer.
This spring my sounder would get all choppy look. It looks like the power level goes down and I get 1/8' gaps in the readings. I tired to upload a pic, but it's too big and I don't know how to resize. I can plug in a P66 transducer and it seems to work fine.

Airmar says the ducer with either work or not. It will work about 75% of the time. I just sent in the module to get tested.

I guess my question is, being the ss264 is way more sensative than a p66, is it harder for the module to run the bigger transducer? The ss264 is just four years old and airmar doesn't make them any more. I loved how it worked and not really wanting to buy anything else.

Thanks for any help

Easydoesit86,
Yes the SS264 is a better transducer than a P-66. Are you looking for the tilted element SS264 (12/20 degrees) or one with a zero degree tilt?

20 degree tilt. I have the wide 200. But is it harder for the bff1 to process the 264 than p66? I'm still waiting to see if Furuno can find anything wrong with my sounder module
