149 to a 139

I currently have a 149 chart plotter and works perfect with my open radar and auto pilot. The screen is in bad shape and I’m trying to keep the same set up. I found someone selling a 139 in great shape, is this plug and play or is there a major change, or can I just use the screen and switch them?

It would be a downgrade. Vx2 chart card wouldn't work, AIS won't work, it will be slower, but it will physically be plug and play and run any connected radar except the 25kw.

Yeah, I’ll just keep what I have. I wonder what it would cost, if possible, to get a new screen installed

New screen would be VERY costly (Well over $2K) if one can be located. It is easier to buy a good condition RDP149 used. There are normally many out there at different conditions and prices to choose from. Looking at e-bay for example I see units from $239 and up.
