GPS33B antenna to 0183 radar question

I need to feed GPS to my BB Radar, and we bought the above referenced Furuno GPS mushroom antenna.

The documentation says it can connect to either NMEA 2000 or 0183. However, there is only one connector a the bottom of the mushroom. The documentation references a Type A (canbus) and a Type B (0183) configuration, and it says you can buy an optional 0183 cable assembly, but I am wondering if these are two different models or if you can actually switch from NMEA 2000 to 0183 by just buying a different cable?

It doesn't make sense to me if one is bi-directional and the other is not.

Anyway, wondering if I should order the other cable or return the unit and exchange for a different model.

Thanks in advance for any help.

M/V Mobius,

The GP330B comes standard with the NMEA 2000 6-meter cable, but the data output can be converted into the NMEA 0183 format by changing out the NMEA 2000 Cable, and adding either a AIR-339-101 NMEA 0183 15-Meter Antenna Cable, or the AIR-339-102 NMEA 0183 25-Meter Antenna Cable.
