Furuno waasp system

Levi,
Two separate issues here.
The WASSP should have 25ms, will it work at 100ms, yes but there is a lag in the pitch/roll/heave information.
The second question is what sentence are you sending to the 2K2?

Snips

Tomorrow morning I'll adjust the WASSP to 25 m/s...for the 2K2 I had the same input, 7-38400-100. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I would willing to bet using sentence 8 will solve the problem.
The reason is sentence 7 outputs ATT, HVE, GGA, VTG and ZDA.
ATT is a combination of heading, pitch and roll.
WASSP can decode ATT but the 2K2 can't extract just the heading component from it.
Sentence 8 outputs HDT, RMC and ZDA.

Snips

...adjusted the WASSP to 25 m/s instead of 100 m/s, everything OK. Still no heading autopilot and tz9, using sentence 8 - 38400 - 25 m/s.

Levi,
Did you reprogram the 2k2 for 38400? The default configuration is 4800. I just connected a SC-30, IF-NMEASC, 2k2 to a TZT14. I had the NMEASC set for sentence 8, 4800 and 200ms with no issues.

...I'll give that a try Snips!! If that works, is there any adjustments to do in the tz9 and fap 711? What is your location?

Thanks for now

Good news!!! Tried sentence 8 - 4800 and 200 m/s, got heading back in pilot and tz9!!

By trial and error figured out that Olex and DSC vhf were connected to the 711 via port 1 and 2. Adjusted baud rates and finally everything is good to go!! I was confused with data conversion from NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 and to NMEA 0183 again.

Thanks
