Do I need to use airmar p66 ? tm260 is not a better transducer?
I am using tm260 with fcv 588 now, Is furuno gp1971 a much better device?

thank you

Recep,
If mounted correctly the TM-260 should outperform the P-66. If you compare the FCV-588 to GP-1971F using the same transducer in the same location the performance will be similar. However the GP-1971F has Chirp capability which the FCV-588 doesn't have. When you use the Chirp mode of the 1971F it will outperform the FCV-588.

Hi, I am looking for information if the transom mounted plastic TM260 50/200 KHZ connected to the new GP-1971F model would support BDS, ACCUFISH, and REZBOOST. From the official site of Furuno USA under the GP-1971F this transducer is not listed as compatible with BDS, only the through hull version is being mentioned.

Thank you.

We only list the transducers that we stock.
The TM-260 is not one we stock.

I understand this, but to your knowledge, and since you have answered the previous question regarding TM260, would this transducer support BDS ACCUFISH or REZBOOST? From the specs the crystals inside it are the the same as the 526TID-HDD through hull, equivalent to airmar model number B260 I suppose, how is it possible to use TM260 with GP-1971F if it is not supported by Furuno ?

Thank you

Hipath,
I understand, why are some transducers (B-260) listed and others (TM & CM-260) not.
In my humble opinion, I think that the seventeen 50/200Khz transducers that are listed in the GP-1871F are there based on overall sales numbers. Since the beam angles are the same for a TM-260 and a B-260 you can choose the 526TID-HDD in the transducer set up menu.
