During 1870 not recognising CMap SDcard

Hi all,

I recently purchased a second hand boat whcih came with a 1870 chart plotter.

It came with 2 cards, one for South Africa and the other for the Caribbean…. Which is what I need.

Unit operates fine with the SouthAfrican card…. But only shows the base map for Barbados.

When I put in the Caribbean card it works for about 5 minutes then gives an error message and chart is no longer visible, unless I reinsert the other card.

Has anyone come across this issue or can anyone recommend a solution?

I would start by ensuring your unit software is up to date and if the problem continues, the map card is most likely bad.
