I have an 1815 Radar connected in the following manner:
Set the converter to 38400 baud.
With the VDM sentence disabled in the Actisense converter, the heading and position are displayed correctly on the radar, and the AIS menu is greyed out. If I enable the VDM sentence, the AIS menu becomes active but heading and position disappear and no AIS targets are displayed.
Is it physically possible for the radar to receive all of this data on one port or does the AIS data need to be fed separately to another input?
