I’m new here, just started updating my new to me , 2007 32 Carolina classic with all new Furuno electronics. Today I installed tz3 , question is where does that shield bare wire connect to, thanks in advance.

You didn't say what sized unit but looking at the interconnection diagram (pg S-1) the TZT16F would not have the power cable shield connected to anything. You would tape it back.

TZT12F would be the same. You would tape it back and ensure it doesn't touch anything. The back of the unit has a grounding lug that should be taken to any bonded system on the boat. Grounding the shield wire of the power would be a possible problem because it could cause a path of electrical flow for noise. It isn't to be connected or touching anything.
