Will there ever be the promised updates/features to GP-1971f

Hi all

I’ve just become the owner of a GP-1971F.

In researching the purchase, I saw promises for features in the future, like phone connectivity..

But the product has been out for some time now, and doesn’t look like these promises have ever been fulfilled? I’m picking that if they haven’t by now that they never will be and this was all just marketing puff.

Any comments from people in the know?

12) Can I connect an iPad, iPhone, iPod, or Apple iOS device to the GP1871F/1971F Combo units? No, not at this time. This functionality is planned for a future software update.

No mention of a time-frame is given however.

This is still being planned and we hope to see it when the next software is released.

I wouldn't consider the Q&A document marketing material but Melville is correct. Japan currently has more plans for the wifi. Not sure when the next version will come, but thoughts are the next version might have it.
