Will Nav pilot 300 work

I have a Volvo penta DPH outdrive and looking for an autopilot to go with my furuno system- suggestions accepted and appreciated

Yes, it will work. You will have to determine which drive unit and how it gets plumbed into the steering. If your dealer has done other pilots on a similar system it would basically be the same.

We had a Volvo Penta as one of our first installs (inboard/outboard) using the Navpilot 300 and it worked great with the octopus pump.

There is a non functioning Simrad AP 26 on the boat with an accusteer 11-12 pump already plumbed
Is this as simple as swap out the pump to a Octopus 10 with current lines or am I missing something?

If the accusteer pump is still good there is no requirement to use an octopus. I would keep the current pump if it works well. If the pump is bad, it should swap out with current lines.

The current AP is not functioning and I suspect pump failure. I have swapped out the brains and still get nothing so would like to get an all new system, which seems to be simplified by the lines already in place. Will be ordering soon. Looks like a great addition to my boat. Thank you for your input.

I am having a heck of a time getting any information as to the correct pump size for the Volvo DPH drive and in doing quite a few searches, this does not seem to be an isolated issue. An early install of the Nav Pilot 300 was completed with a Volvo DPH- do you know what pump size was used? Thank you for your help- wanting to get this ordered....

That early NP300 install was on a inboard/outboard drive, 2005 Volvo Penta D4 260; EVC-B2. He used the smallest octopus pump (p/n PUMPOCT06-12) and it worked perfectly for his steering system. A pump should be always rated based on the steering system and hydraulic ram(s). Ideally you want the pump to push hard over to hard over in about 10 seconds. Not crazy fast or turtle slow.
