VX2 step upgrade

I have a 1734C (RDP148) with 1.06 software. I need to upgrade to 4.01
Somewhere on the forum I read to upgrade from 1.06 to 4.01 it has to be done in steps, and the advice was to contact tech support. I doubt they will answer as the unit is so old.
So does anyone know what the steps are and where I can download the versions on software I will need to step upgrade.

You can go from 1.06 directly to current but you must use special (what we call conversion) software. This software isn't posted online because if the wrong type is used (like putting 7" software into 10.4") it can make your unit an expensive toaster. You should contact tech support and provide the the information on your unit and they can hook you up with the proper software.
