I am in need of a motor for the scanner in a very old type 1720. Are ther any available?
The RM9086 motor (Furuno part number 000-125-789) is no longer available. The 1720 radar is roughly 25 to 27 years old. You might try some Furuno dealers who might have old stock or used items.
