USB Hub

If I want the Furuno SDU-001 Remote Card Reader and already have the MCU004 remote, do I just hook up a usb hub? Will there be conflicts when reader data and using remote? If no problem, any hub you recommend in enclosed pilothouse enclosed in helm?

Thanks
Eric

Any suggested 12vdc USB hubs known to work?

Or any known not to work?

And is there any need for anything faster than USB-2.0 with the TZT3 plotters? Are there any situations where write speed to SD cards would be an issue? USB2 industrial 12v hubs are a fair bit less expensive than USB3.

I don't know that you need to use a powered hub. I use one of these cheap ones:

I am sharing the USB port on a TZT 3 16 with the card reader and one of the new Touch Encoder" remotes. It is possible the power requirement of the MCU004 is greater but you might want to try first before getting a more expensive hub.

You could also get an adapter for the second USB mini port and use one for the card reader and one for the remote.

Fwiw, I've been using this 4-port USB hub and it's working as expected.

MCU-004 remote
SDU-001 card reader
Receiver for old wireless gyration mouse/keyboard
Receiver for Elecom trackball

I may remove the gyration and switch to something else. That keyboard and the strange 'air mouse' it came with worked on the NN3D.
