Upgrading Navnet BB to Navnet VX2 BB

Hello,
I am doing some upgrades on my friends trawler. He currently has a 2004 Navnet 1933C BB with RCU017, BBFF1 sounder, Fax 30, Radar and external GPS.
Can he upgrade (buy used) a Navnet VX2 BB and use with the other equipment? Or is the Navnet 1933C BB paired specifically with the 48nm radar only?

Are all the different model Navnets essentially the same but bundled with different radars?
1833C, 1933C, 1953C etc.?

He would like to take advantage of the new CMap charts and options on the VX2 without having to change any of the other components.

All components you list are compatible with a vx2.
You are correct in that the nomenclature referred to the radar it was bundled with.
 
In the above configuration would we be able to just remove the VX1 and install a VX2?
Are all cables and connectors the same?
 
They are all the same. It is plug and play except for having to go through the set-up.
Make sure you download the vx2 manual.
