Updating RD33 firmware

Is it possible to update the RD-33's firmware through a TZT...or some other end-user controlled means? Or can this only be done by returning the device to a dealer?

With older versions it was possible via the MFDs, but current version 1.11 is currently only via PC and a bit complex requiring a special interface. I am asking Japan if it is possible to get an uploader version but if happening right now, it would need to go into the Furuno service center for update.

I have verified that the RD33 must come into the service center for firmware update. There is no uploader software possible for that particular unit. I will put a note on our website to reflect that.

Hello Johny i am trying to update mine serial 6410-1550 and the procedure is not clear, it is said do disconnect NMEA2000 but the only way to feed 12V into it is through the NMEA2000. So the loader program start on the PC, i have RS-232 - USB connectivity in place. But nothing happens.

Do we have to put the RD33 in a special mode to receive the bin code ?

User updates are not available, this unit needs to be sent in to the Camas, WA Service/Repair Center to be updated.
