TZtouch2 or Simrad or Lowrance

Gday everyone.
I've been scouting around for months on many of the regular forums and only found the Furuno one recently and already learnt a lot.

I'm in the process of buying a sounder and unfortunately in Australia there's not a lot of information on Furuno, nor Simrad come to mention it, and everything is Lowrance. I'm really torn on whether I go a TZtouch2 or possibly the Simrad NSS Evo12, Furuno has the reputation for durability and support and quality. Simrad is the new technology but looks good on paper too.
I live in Northern Australia where the waters are generally less than 150ft deep and we do a lot of sport fishing in shallow rivers. A lot of the Furuno info talks about everything but the quality of the sounder itself which is the main thing I'm after. Navigation is handy but I need to see what's under the water most of all.
Has anyone been looking at making a similar choice and what made you choose in the end?
Can anyone give me some real info on what the sounder component is like when it's used? I want to be able to justify the Furuno which over here in Australia is about $3800 with a basic transducer.

Cheers
Bruno

The built in sounder with the TZT2 will serve your needs. Couple with the proper RezBoast transducer you will get good target separation as well as bottom discrimination.

I encourage you to contact JN Taylor, the Furuno distributor in Australia. They have 4 offices across the country and really know the needs of the fisherman. You should check out their Facebook page, Furuno Fishing Fanatics, where they have posted some dramatic video of Furuno in action.
