Good morning. Trying to confirm before I do it. I have a TZTL12F I have never updated. Browsing through forum, it appears I should update software in sequence? It looks like I should go 6.21, then 6.26, and finally 7? Or can I go straight to 7? Just double checking. Thanks in advance.

Kicker is mistaken. V7 software posted on our website is the full OS/APP and can update any version machine to V7. He must have been thinking about the APP update only which we did have at one time. Rather than post two versions of software, the full package is posted and the instructions are proper.
Thanks for the reply. Since I didn't see it before starting the update process, I set out to upgrade to 6.21.
I started Part 1 as instructed. After inserting the microSD in the back of the unit, I hit the power button. It started with the Furuno logo, and the "system is updating" message appeared. After a short time (under a minute?), I saw another message flash in it's place, but before I could read it the message disappeared and only the Furuno logo remained. The screen never went dark, and the "WARNING: SYSTEM UPDATING" screen never appeared. It has been stuck on the logo screen for 20 minutes with the power light green.
What do I do next? Can I power it down and start over?

Yes, I would power down and start over with 7.01 software. You might as well do this once.
When you are on the radar screen, swipe up from the bottom. You should see the setting at the top left of the pull up.
I expect it is the brand of media you are using. I have had some brands not work. Kingston is known to be problematic. I would try a diffrent brand micro SD. If your unit can read the chart card, the SD reader should be functional.
I had an issue because I didn't read this instruction. I was using a larger micro SD card. Not sure why size matters but soon as I switched to a 32GB card, it worked perfectly.

When all else fails, I usually start from scratch including a fresh download while carefully following instructions. Most of my past issues have been self induced. It wouldn't hurt to take the MFD off of the network to eliminate that as an issue:

Furuno dealers sell a tested update kit if nothing else.
They might need to special order if they don't stock it. The part number is TZ2-SOF-SD1 for the TZTL. (not to be used for TZT2BB)
