TZTL12F shutdowns

If possible, a question concerning a fault on a TZTL12F MFD.

Device will start normally, and after a brief period (10 minutes +/-) screen will switch off. Additionally, there is no power button backlight, but fan continues to run.

Following this fault, the unit is unresponsive to touch at the power button.

If power is cycled, process will repeat.

This observed on the bench with a power supply and no other devices or network connections. Software has been updated to 7.0. The ambient conditions are in the mid 60’s (F).

Is this a recognized phenomenon? Would there be any suggestions prior to sending in for service?

Thoughts would be most appreciated.

If the multi-conductor cable doesn't have wires touching or shorted, then the machine should be sent in for repair. It sounds like the main board is damaged. If the unit is in an area where it gets hot it can damage it like this. I recommend when it comes back repaired that you look over the installed area very closely for good air flow/temperatures. I knew one guy who sealed on up in the NavPod without vents and kept killing a unit every year until he fixed the ventilation behind the unit. If the install area is good, it might just be a one up issue with the main board.
