tzt9 NETWORKED WITH tzT14 DOES NOT PASS CHARTS

I networked a tzt9 to my tzt14 and the tzt9 does not show the charts that are on the 14, it only shows a vector chart without the detail that the raster chart shows on the 14. The 14 is set as the master. The 9 shows the data from the 14, the depth finder, and communicates but the 9 does not pick up any of the charts that I have in the 14. I can plot waypoints and go to them but the detail of the raster chart can not be shown. I have taken the chart card out with no change. I tried to do a factory reset on the tzt9 but it will not reset. The system id shown is the same on both units. I just cannot get the charts on the tzt9. Shouldn't they both show the same and how can i fix it?

Each display should have its own chart card. Charts are not read over the network. Please ensure that the TZT9 has a chart card in the left slot (hidden under a plastic cover) and that it contains the same charts you're viewing on the TZT14. If there is no card in the TZT9, then you'll need to add one.

It has the chart card in the left slot but I do not get the charts. It still should do a factory reset though.

Check to ensure that both chart cards have the same charts on them by taking each SD card to a Windows computer and viewing the files. It appears that the raster option is not showing up on the TZT9 as a chart selection? If so, turn both displays off and swap chart cards between displays. See if the problem follows the chart card or the display. If it follows the display, try a "scan" first, using the attached instructions. If that doesn't work, try master reset "ALL" selection.

I have tried a master reset multiple times but nothing happens except the up and down arrows flash and it does not reboot. I have tried using the tzt9 alone with the other shut down, still the same with or without the charts.

Well...if it's not working, then the only other thing to do is to send it in and see if there's anything we can do for you. To start the process, use this link: https://www.furunousa.com/en/myaccount/returned_merchandise_authorization
I may have found an issue. When I start the tzt9 it says it is loading the operating system but when I go into service manager it shows an earlier operating system not the same as the what is indicated on startup. I checked the tzt14 and both the version on startup and the one shown on service manager are the same. I could not find the download on furuno support, where could I find it and instructions to update.

I did a full os update and tomorrow will see if it works better. Both units now show the same os and updates.
Its working better now, no longer crashes but still has trouble loading charts. I get screens like this when i load a raster chart. It only loads part and does not respond to touches, as though the computer is too busy.IMG_6131.jpeg

After you did the update, did you do a master reset? If not, I would recommend performing a master reset. The procedures for that are located here: https://www.furunousa.com/-/media/s.../tzt9_and_tzt14_master_reset_instructions.pdf

***Just to be clear...performing a master reset will erase all of your points, routes and unlock codes (for any purchased charts). Please back up your points and routes in Menu-Files to a no larger than 32GB SD card.***

I did the master reset after the update.

Try switching to vector chart to see what that looks like. Can then go back to raster chart and if still looks like your picture...try adjusting the range to see if that helps. As far as viewing previous tracks...Do you mean ones that were saved and then restored after the master reset or just new ones that you are creating since then? To hide/show tracks, press the Rotokey, select Overlay, and then Tracks. If it's selected already and you want to see current tracks, touch the boat icon and select Track Rec to start recording.

It will load a s-57 , when i load a vector chart without detail and then go to raster it loads an s57 and indicates its on auto and then when i again select raster i get something else that is blurry but has some raster chart. The only way i get any usable chart is to select s-57. Even though i select tracks none of the tracks from other master unit show here.

If you have a Windows PC, you can remove the chart card from each of your displays and see what chart versions you have on them. Once you have that, try going to https://mytimezero.com/charts-catalog and selecting Raster (or Vector), Mega-Wide, NOAA as the filters and then compare the file names on your chart card to the ones on the website. The last two digits of the file name is the version of the chart; so if the number is higher on the website, that version is newer than the one you have.

As far as the tracks...they don't sync across the displays. If you want tracks on each display, you'll have to enable track rec and track hide/show to On (or show).
