Tzt3 with fa40 ais

Hi, I have a tzt12f and I'm trying to connect it via nmea2000 but I can't detect it. I have two questions: first, I used the Garmin brand T and terminator because where I live they didn't have Furuno. Second, I saw several posts that the nmea2000 network has to be powered from the battery. Is that to build a network with several devices or if I only connect one ais, does it also have to be powered? Thanks for your help!
