Need some assistance getting the TZT2 to control the GHC 10. Everything is hooked up the the N2K and both show up on the network page of each. I've turned on all communications options i know on the TZT2 but still nothing.

You turned on the Navigation PGN, Navigation and Waypoint PGN, and the Cross track Error PGN from the TZT2? When you lay a route and activate it or use a "GOTO", then hit NAV on the pilot it doesn't do anything? I don't know that pilot. Maybe you have to setup your nav sources in the pilot. Have you talked to Garmin? Normally if the standard PGNs are on it goes to the bus and the pilot listens to the instructions. You should at least get an error on the pilot to tell you why it isn't going into Navigation mode.

I used to have a Garmin system with MFDs and their autopilot. There is an option for heading source in the user menu, but not for navigation data source. It just looks for whatever is available on its interface whether NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183. If it sees the navigate to waypoint PGNs, it will give you the option of steering to the waypoint.

Just to be clear, you used the phrase "control" the GHC 10. It's not possible to "control" it in the same way that is possible with a Garmin plotter where the actual autopilot operations such as going into standby, dodging, or steering mode can be controlled from the MFD display screen.

What you can do is activate a route or waypoint for navigation on the TZT 2 and then engage the autopilot from its control head.

I still have the Garmin autopilot on my boat and now have TZT 3 displays. The autopilot is seeing the navigation PGNs over the NMEA 2000 network and will steer to a route or waypoint once the TZT 3 has been set to do so. So yours should work.

This helps a lot. I thought the TZT would engage the AP just like the 741xs I have will. Have to try it out.
