hi all
i currently have a navnet vx2 1834 and would like to upgrade to the Tzt2. i have several questions i am hoping the forum members can answer.

1. please confirm that i don't need an external gps receiver/antenna

2. i believe i can use my current sounder transducer if its compatible meaning i can use all the current wiring, correct?

3. can i connect a sitex autopilot to the tzt2 such that i can use the chartplotter and autopilot in combo to automatically follow a course from waypoint to waypoint?

4. perhaps this is the most complex question. i have twin cummins 5.9 6bta engines. i would like to display engine operating data on the tzt2. how can i convert the current analog data to data that the tzt2 can display? i imagine some sort of interface would be needed.

thank you very much

blksmith,

Here is the answers to your inquiries.

1. please confirm that i don't need an external gps receiver/antenna

Answer: The TZTouch2 is equipped with an Internal GPS Antenna. However if the TZTouch2 is going to be mounted inside a wheelhouse or cabin, it is recommended to add an external GP330B GPS/WAAS Receiver Antenna.

2. i believe i can use my current sounder transducer if its compatible meaning i can use all the current wiring, correct?

Answer: If you are currently using a 600 Watt-1KW 50/200Khz 10-Pin Transducer, then it can be used as the transducer for the TZTouch2's Internal Fish Finder.

3. can i connect a sitex autopilot to the tzt2 such that i can use the chartplotter and autopilot in combo to automatically follow a course from waypoint to waypoint?

Answer: You have the ability to send Waypoint/Data information to your Autopilot via NMEA 2000 Port, or NMEA1803 Port that are included with the TZTouch2.

4. perhaps this is the most complex question. i have twin cummins 5.9 6bta engines. i would like to display engine operating data on the tzt2. how can i convert the current analog data to data that the tzt2 can display? i imagine some sort of interface would be needed.

Answer: You would have to check if there are any NMEA 2000 Engine Monitor Sensors that might be available from Cummins Marine (I am sure there are...) then install them on your engines. The next step would be to wire all these sensors into the NMEA 2000 backbone, and this will give you the ability to utilize the Instrument Display that is available with the TZTouch2

I hope that this will answer all your questions.

Deep Blue - ;)

Thanks for all the great information. I will check with cummins
